To evaluate the quality of colostrum. For newborn calves, the quality of the colostrum is extremely important due to the antibodies - good colostrum can reduce the risk of diarrhea and other diseases.
How is it measured: Open the prism flap and put a drop of colostrum on the prism~ close the flap and press lightly~ read the Brix value on the scale~ Clean and dry thoroughly after each use!
Values: <~ 22 = poor quality (< IgG 50 g/l)~ 22 to 27 = medium quality (approx. 50 to 100 IgG g/l)~ >~ 27 = very good quality (> 100 IgG g/l)
Scope of delivery: pipette, screwdriver, cloth, case
