To make it, ripe fruits are gradually placed in a glazed earthenware pot over the course of the summer with approximately the same amount of sugar and high-proof rum. The fruits must always remain covered with liquid. Stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, the rum pot is ready in winter and can be served as a compote with semolina pudding and other desserts. Berries, cherries, plums, apricots and other fruits are suitable.
