Beschreibung
1. Removal of a well-filled, unbrooded marginal honeycomb from the upper brood chamber.
2. Repel bees onto the cover film. By folding the foil in half, the bees can be shaken into the measuring cup. (approx. 50g bees).
3. The bees from the measuring cup should be transferred immediately into the shaking cup. Then close the lid quickly and carefully. The cup should now be handled so that the grid is on top.
4. 5 slightly heaped tablespoons of powdered sugar (approx. 35 g) should now be added to the bees through the grid of the shaking cup and the cup should be shaken gently until all the bees are covered with powdered sugar. Care should be taken here to ensure that no mites fall out.
5. Then wait 3 minutes. In the meantime, the cup should be shaken gently 1-2 times to distribute the powdered sugar on the bees.
6. Then place a fine sieve on a honey bucket and shake the shaker cup with the grid downwards vigorously over the sieve for about 60 seconds. The powdered sugar and mites will fall into the sieve. By sifting the powdered sugar, the mites are then separated from the sugar and can be counted. The bees can be returned to the hive.
