High pressure cleaner
Quality, price and frequency of use
First of all, you should ask yourself how often and how intensively you will be using your pressure washer. A private user with their own garden will probably need their pressure washer less often than a farmer, for example, who uses it to clean their trailers and tractors every day.
The same rule of thumb applies to squat cleaning machines: the more you are prepared to invest, the better quality you will get. So please consider whether you might want to invest a little more money at the beginning and save money in the long run. A high-quality pressure washer has a longer service life and therefore needs to be replaced less frequently or perhaps never with a new appliance.
What's more, a high-quality pressure washer gives you a completely different working experience and achieves better results. And another tip: you can often recognize high-quality pressure washers by their weight. Where some manufacturers rely on plastic for cost reasons, others use solid metal parts. Nozzle
Of course, the right nozzle also makes an important contribution to clean work. Rotor nozzles or “dirt cutters” have proven to be particularly effective for cleaning paving and forecourts. Of course, there are also differences in quality. Here you should pay attention to the materials used (plastic or metal).
Working pressure & water volume
The working pressure of a high-pressure cleaner is specified in bar and should not be less than 90 bar for DIY appliances. For professional appliances, the pressure is usually around 160 bar and more. As vehicles and facades must not be cleaned at too high a pressure, pressure regulation is highly recommended. The importance of the possible water volume is often underestimated. This is specified in liters/minute or liters/hour. A high water flow rate is particularly important for work that requires “alluvial action” (e.g. terrace cleaning, large amounts of dirt). A water output of approx. 6 l/min should be regarded as the lower limit for private use.
Hose
The condition of the hose is very important for the problem-free use of your appliance. Make sure it is long enough. With a hose length of 6 meters or even less, you cannot wash your car without moving the cleaner! Appliances that have a hose reel have proven to be very effective - this increases your comfort during use considerably.
Engine
If possible, make sure that your pressure washer has a so-called slow-running motor. The advantage of these motors is that they are quieter and, above all, more durable. This allows you to use your pressure washer in a more relaxed manner and for many years without any problems.
Bypass operation
All Kränzle high-pressure cleaners switch to pressure-reduced bypass operation when the safety shut-off gun is closed. The water is thus pumped with a residual pressure of 10 bar in the circuit. This reduces the load on the pump and drive, resulting in a very significant increase in service life and a reduction in energy consumption. Models with the additional designation TS have a total stop function, which even switches the motor off completely in this case.
